Groups is one of the best ways to connect at First. While each group’s study subject differs according to the dynamics of group and desired study material, the main purpose is living life with a community of people that will be there for you, to support you not only in spiritual matters but life issues also. For it is in these groups your story is heard and appreciated.
Women’s ministry strives to share the love of Christ through fellowship and service, glorifying Him in all we do. Come join us in living our lives for Christ and loving the opportunities to serve.
Look for scheduled times for church projects around the building and for focused community events by the men of FCC in our App, FCCABQ, or the Sunday morning Information Folder.
Our student ministry’s purpose is that we would love Jesus more. Whether it’s youth group, regular service opportunities, or just hanging out, we aim to have fun and laugh together, apply God’s word to our lives, and provide a safe and trusting atmosphere for our 6th-12th graders. Youth group is held Sunday (6pm-7:15pm) and Wednesday (6:30pm-7:30pm), and Sunday School is 9am-10am.
9:00am Sunday School and 10:30am BLAST are fun and safe environments for 2 and half aged through elementary aged children to learn about God and His Holy Word. Children can participate in age appropriate Bible lessons, games and hands on activities that are new each week.
A great place for babies and toddlers from birth through-2 and half years of age to learn, play and grow. Age appropriate curriculum and activities are provided each week so that even our littlest people are learning that God loves them.
Prayer is one of our quieter areas of ministry. While it may not be apparent to the eye of its existence here at FCC it is an underlying vital ministry experienced through our “Prayer Phone Chain”, elder’s monthly prayer service and yearly prayer events such as National Day of Prayer that keep our intercessors busy lifting the needs of our congregation, community and nation.
This lively group of seniors don’t let any dust settle in their path. Whether it be weekly Bible Studies, monthly targeted lunch trips or the Fifth Sunday Sing at a local area church, these seniors stop for very little because they have so much they still want accomplish for the Kingdom of God. There are also weekly Bible studies throughout the week that help not only in biblical understanding but also in fellowship and care of this vital community of believers at First.
We support missions around the world, from the Philippines to Mexico to Papua New Guinea to organizations here in the states. Each of these supported ministries represents opportunities for our congregation to not only give financial support but also more importantly opportunities of ministry on location. We feel to be on location not only is challenging but produces a spiritual awareness of how God is working in and around the world which broadens our awareness of God in our neighborhood.
Our seasonal Wednesday Night Dinners are second to none. Every meal is prepared from fresh produce that will satisfy your taste buds and put a smile on your face. The fellowship and studies that follow the dinner are an excellent place to meet new people and get connected to the inner workings of this faith community.
Angels Acts of Kindness
This non-profit ministry is dedicated to providing food, clothing and basic needs of church members and the surrounding community. Year round the church body donates gently used household items to help in this effort. Two big events for this ministry are the collection of school supplies for community children in the fiscal school year and the Thanksgiving and Christmas Help Angels Fly initiatives that generates gifts, household items, clothing and food for hundreds of families in our community.
We have many areas of opportunity of service that support our Sunday services. Whether it be communion serving and/or preparation, greeting, tech support (sound, lights and media) or worship team (singers and/or band) there are many ways to use the gifts God has instilled in you to serve Him and His church in community.
Keeping our facility and grounds in check take committed people with an eye and a heart in servant service. Mowing and weeding, care of the Memorial Rose Garden, and maintenance of church vehicles to mention a few allows those with “service” gifts to be used in “out of sight” ministries.
Reaching our community is one of our core values and our desire is to touch them in ways that are truly helpful and needed. We are always looking for opportunities for service in our immediate neighborhood as well as outer laying communities.
